Larisa (20 cats and 1 dog)
Larisa and her family not only take care of their own furry companions but also extend their help to other animals. They have 20 cats and 1 dog at home. In addition to their own pets, they provide extra feeding for around 40 stray cats in their neighborhood within the city. They also travel to a village where they feed approximately 15 local cats and 10 dogs there.
"During the war, we increased the number of animals in our family many times over.
When many were thinking about their safety, we were rescuing dogs and cats from the street. Our family chose to stay in the city because we knew that we couldn't evacuate all the animals, and without us they would die.
Before the war, we used to support our cats and dogs from our own resources. However, in the past 1.5 years, our reserves have depleted, our income has drastically decreased, and expenses have soared.
Whenever the city is bombed again, our first thought is, "How will we feed the animals tomorrow if all the stores close again?" We have almost no food supplies left, as there is simply no means to afford them. We are living day by day.
Every month, we require a minimum of 100 kilograms of food, plus litter for the litter box, drinking water, and medications. And that's just the minimum. If any of them fall ill, it costs thousands of hryvnias (Ukrainian currency).
We feed them only super-premium class pet food to reduce the risks of liver, kidney, and pancreas diseases.
Every day, we wonder, "Where will we get the money?" - not for ourselves, but primarily to feed and care for our animals. It would be great to have a reserve of pet food since the war is ongoing, and nobody knows what tomorrow may bring.
Therefore, we ask you to support us with money, specifically in the form of monetary donations, to purchase what is necessary. On behalf of each and every little furry tail in our care, we express our gratitude to everyone who contributes financially."
